Business angels are individual investors who provide capital to startups that are still in early stages of their development (at so-called Pre-Seed and Seed stages). Angels often work with companies that are of little interest to large venture capital funds or commercial banks. The activities of business angels resemble those of venture capital investors, however, venture capitalists usually invest funds provided by Limited Partners (silent participants in the VC funds), not their own personal capital.
